Pat and I enjoyed a lovely outing into Brigg yesterday. We spent time visiting local shops and handing out flyers for our upcoming summer event, encouraging businesses to display them in their windows and helping to strengthen connections within our local community.

As we walked along Wrawby Street, Pat shared wonderful memories of the shops she remembered from years gone by, including her family’s greengrocers, Dickinsons. Reminiscing about familiar places and experiences provided an opportunity to reflect on her life story, helping to stimulate memory, encourage conversation, and promote a sense of identity and belonging.

We then popped into the Atrium at The Angel for a cup of tea. While there, Pat fondly recalled attending dances at The Angel in her younger years, sharing stories and memories from a happy time in her life. Reminiscence activities such as these can enhance emotional wellbeing, boost confidence, and create meaningful opportunities for social engagement.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon filled with conversation, memories, and community connections #memories #connections #orchardcourt #jasminehealthcare permission obtained to display photographs

Love this Auntie Pat is my godmother and she regularly visited Brigg. She has a very good recollection of local history, lovely to see her smiling x

The sun made a welcome appearance this afternoon, teasing us with an hour of lovely weather, so we made the most of it and spent some time relaxing on the patio. We enjoyed plenty of conversation and laughter while playing the good old-fashioned game of “I Spy With My Little Eye.”

Simple games like this may cost nothing, but they offer so many benefits. They encourage observation skills, stimulate memory and concentration, support cognitive wellbeing, and promote social interaction. Most importantly, they bring people together and create opportunities for fun and meaningful connection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time outdoors, making the most of the fresh air, sunshine, and each other’s company #oldfashionedgames #connections #orchardcourt #jasminehealthcare permission obtained to display photographs

Dorrie and I were out and about yesterday enjoying a lovely trip together. We popped into Boyes to pick up a few bits and pieces before calling into The White Horse for a swift half, which Dorrie thoroughly enjoyed!

Afterwards, we decided to take the long way back and enjoyed a leisurely walk together. Outings like these provide so many benefits, including fresh air, social interaction, and opportunities to remain connected with the local community. They also help promote independence, stimulate conversation and memories, and support overall wellbeing.

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, companionship, and plenty of enjoyment along the way #communityconnection #orchardcourt #jasminehealthcare permission obtained to display photographs
